Rubra Candela
End User Licence Agreement
By installing or using Rubra Candela ("the Software"), you agree to this Agreement. If you do not agree, do not install or use the Software.
1. Licence granted
Rubra Candela ("we", "us") grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the Software on devices you own or control, for your own software development work, including commercial work you perform.
2. What you may not do
You may not:
- redistribute, resell, rent, lease, sublicense, or host the Software as a service for third parties;
- reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Software, except to the extent that applicable law expressly permits this despite this limitation;
- remove or obscure any copyright, trademark, or attribution notice;
- use the Software to build a competing product;
- circumvent any licence check, usage limit, or authentication mechanism.
3. Your code is yours
The Software analyses source code on your machine. We claim no ownership, licence, or interest of any kind in the code you analyse, the projects you open, or any output the Software produces about them.
The Software's analysis runs locally. See the Privacy Policy for the complete and exhaustive list of what leaves your machine.
4. Accounts and verification
Creating an account requires a valid email address. You agree that the information you supply is accurate, and that you are responsible for activity under your account. We may suspend an account that is used in breach of this Agreement.
5. Third-party components
The Software requires Ollama to be installed separately to provide local AI features. Ollama is not our software, is not distributed by us, and your use of it is governed by its own licence and privacy terms. On first run, Ollama downloads a language model from its own servers; that connection is between you and Ollama.
The Software also bundles open-source components, each under its own licence.
See THIRD-PARTY-NOTICES.md. Where those licences grant you rights, they
prevail over this Agreement in respect of those components.
6. Updates
The Software may check for updates and, where you have enabled it, install them. Updates are covered by this Agreement unless they ship with different terms.
7. No warranty
THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
The Software produces automated analysis and AI-generated commentary about code. It can be wrong. Do not rely on it as the sole basis for a security, correctness, or architectural decision. You remain responsible for reviewing your own code.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or relating to the Software is limited to the amount you paid for it in the twelve months preceding the claim, or, where the Software was supplied free of charge, to zero.
We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or business interruption, even if advised of the possibility.
Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
9. Termination
This licence ends automatically if you breach it. On termination you must stop using the Software and delete all copies. Sections 3, 7, 8 and 10 survive.
10. Governing law
This Agreement is governed by the laws of India, and the competent courts in India have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from it.
This does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory consumer law where you live, including, for users in India, the Consumer Protection Act 2019.
11. Changes
We may amend this Agreement for future versions of the Software. Material changes will be noted in the release notes. Continuing to use a version after it ships with amended terms means you accept them.
